Former LDS Apologist [Apr. 9th, 2007|06:34 pm]
Are Mormons Christians?

I am a former Latter-day Saint Apologist who defended the Mormon Religion until I had a real true encounter with God. I know defend the Bible and the Christian Faith and am returning to the Apologetics and discussions. Through my various studies, I have found more and more information about the LDS Church that makes no sense, that is contradictory in nature and that it possesses some dangerous doctrines.

Right now, I am in discussion about the doctrine of Exaltation and I am finding that many Mormons are not honest and open about discussing such things because of their blinded skewed view.

Welcome to the community. I look forward to the discussions you'll start here.

What is the "doctrine of Exaltation?"

Doctrine of Exaltation

Thank you for the welcome.

The doctrine of Exaltation is that Mormonism believes that man has the potentiality to become God. Meaning that, Man will receive the same power, glory, dominion and adoration of subjects and believers much like God does today.

That is the doctrine of Exaltation. Mormonism teaches it as simply Exaltation

hmm! I'm quite intrigued by the sort of knowledge you'll be able to contribute to this group! Hopefully this community can be revitalized with your input and insights.
A dear friend of mine is to leave for the Switzerland-Geneva mission this summer, and, as a Bible-believing Christian {who has been greatly inspired to not only research Mormonism, but the roots of my own faith as well) I'm finding it quite difficult to relate to him just how vastly different my religion, his, and what I have read (via official LDS documents) that seems to contradict what he believes....
Well, this is becoming longer than I hoped, so, to close with, welcome!!

Thank you for the comment (I did add you to my Journal friends list).

I might suggest going to www.carm.org, I am there as Ghostwriter where there are some discussions concerning mormonim. I have done alot of research and alot of interesting questions and have concluded that the more I study Mormon Doctrine, the more it makes no sense at all logically, and evidentiary.

As for your friend, the only thing I can suggest doing is to pray for him. To study and ask questions in a way that are not putting him on the defensive. Probe for as much information from him/her as possible. Feel free to ask me some questions or how to locate information and I will see what I can do to help. I am preparing an entry to post on my Journal in the next couple days, plus I keep a blog at google. and have a website www.timothyberman.com
